A dance artist in Quebec City, Sarah Audet-Belzile first established her roots in Irish dance before diving headfirst into the world of contemporary dance. It’s no surprise, then, that her movement is characterized by a strong rhythm, a sometimes mathematical nature, and a great attention to detail. Her academic background, rich in knowledge of science, mathematics, philosophy, as well as visual arts and art history, greatly informs her artistic practice.

The central concerns of her approach are marked by a curiosity about the human being and a desire to bring a bit of gentleness to the world. Curious, attentive, and generous, she wholeheartedly immerses herself in the projects she works on. Sarah is also driven by the desire to break new ground, to question the “why not?” in order to spark reflections that deserve to come to light. As such, multidisciplinary and sometimes performative creations capture her interest, as do in situ projects that present dance in a new light.
