Maxine
Chadburn
Born and raised in White Rock, BC, Maxine began exploring the arts and outdoors as early as she could walk. Her excitement for theatre and dance brought her to seek post secondary training in Vancouver with contemporary dance initiative, Modus Operandi under the direction of Tiffany Tregarthen and David Raymond of Out Innerspace Dance Theatre. There she had the opportunity to collaborate on dance-on-screen projects and create works with her peers. It also led her to perform works by artists like Justine A. Chambers, Wen Wei Wang, and Crystal Pite. Maxine has studied contact improvisation under the mentorship of Peter Bingham as a scholarship student and apprentice of EDAM Dance. As an actor she’s focused on improvisation, the Meisner technique, and Fitzmaurice Voicework®. Her acting resume includes film, television and local theatre. Maxine has worked for independent choreographers and companies such as Kelly McInnes (Vancouver), Daina Ashbee (Montreal), 605 Collective, Out Innerspace Dance Theatre, and currently, Shay Kuebler Radical System Arts Society.
