Champoux
Artist-painter and Lighting-Designer; After studies in plastics arts, then still a young painter, he tries to comprehend lights in the unique goal to better understand its link to painting. This search brought him to the National Theatre School of Canada in the mid 90’s where he will, by accident, become a scenic Light designer. While bringing his new skills and understanding in his paint, he constructs lights composition the same way he creates his paintings. Lights reveals mysterious bodies and deep emotions as well on canvas as on scene. Faithful collaborator of Wajdi Mouawad since his beginnings, he works with great creators et directors such as Alice Ronfard, Yves Desgagnés, Claude Poissant, André Brassard, André Mélançon, Dominique Michel, Fernand Rainville, Michel Laprise. He also lends his lights to Cirque du Soleil in the Show Ovo, Allavita! Crystal and Axel on ice also Juste Une P’tite Nuite (Tribute to Les Colocs) and Joyeux Calvaire (Tribute to Cowboys Fringuants).
